Our Story

Our story begins with Mohammad Saeed Rahman, a visionary philanthropist who has weathered the storms of life with resilience and unwavering compassion. His journey was marked by moments that plunged him into darkness, moments that could have defined him in despair, but instead, he chose to turn those moments into beacons of light and hope for countless others.

On a fateful day, March 23, 1999, the lights went out for Mohammad Saeed Rahman. A tragic car accident snatched away the life of a vibrant, intelligent young boy named Mustafa, plunging the Rahman family into an abyss of grief and despair. Instead of succumbing to this darkness, the Rahman family found the strength to honor Mustafa's memory by creating the One Ummah Foundation—a testament to the power of turning tragedy into transformation. This foundation became a source of hope for underprivileged children and families worldwide, demonstrating that even the darkest moments can lead to rays of light.

Yet, life had more trials in store. In 2018, another devastating blow struck—Rahman's older son tragically passed away. The room went dark again, and Mohammad Saeed Rahman faced a choice: to remain engulfed in the darkness or turn the switch back on. In the face of heart-wrenching loss, he chose the latter. He realized that amidst the darkness, there was a choice—to embrace the light of gratitude and compassion or to be consumed by despair.

Mohammad Saeed Rahman's journey of turning the lights on in his life led him to discover the transformative power of gratitude. He knew that the choice between darkness and light was not just a metaphor; it was a tangible decision that shaped our lives. He channeled his newfound understanding into action, creating the Le Gratitude Institute—a global think tank dedicated to illuminating a different path for those facing depression and comparison.

At the Le Gratitude Institute, we recognize the challenge of depression in today's society—a challenge that often stems from the comparison and the absence of genuine connection. In a world driven by social media's unrealistic standards and perpetual competition, the beauty in our lives can easily be obscured.
